The Suns HEAT; cause new Threat to already Frozen Water Pipes

• The Suns heat, causes new Threat to already Frozen Water Pipes.

As the sun outside heats up, so do temperatures heat up around your frozen water pipes (/ beginning a natural thawing process, with the suns heat.
Not OK if the pipe is split, separated at joint, or has pin hole in pipe due to frozen pipe.

• The rise in temperature, cause a thawing process of frozen water pipes.

Including the Natural thawing process of your frozen water pipes.
Frozen water pipes hot or cold begin to thaw naturally as temperatures rise.
When the temperature rises above 32 degrees Fahrenheit during the day.
The process begins without you having knowledge of it.

• What can happen as home temp rises: FREE FLOWING WATER.

FREE FLOWING WATER can occurs as pipes warm up,

Water pipes begin to thaw as air temp rises; the same as water pipes freeze.
when exposed to freezing temperatures.

It sounds like a washer machine emptying after the wash cycle.

Let me explain: how a call with a customer went, she had free flowing water.
After her washer was unusable for about a 2 weeks.
At the time our area faced seriously cold weather winter of  2014 - 2015.
Temps didn't go above 32 during the day or night for over 2 weeks.
Then the Suns temperatures reached 50 degrees during the day.

• Now a call from a lady with thawing pipes due to rising temperatures. 

The lady ask me if it was normal to hear
the sound of water flowing under her attached laundry room?
Before I could answer, She proceeded to tell me the room was added on several years ago.
So I answered her with NO it is not normal to hear water flowing under her attached laundry room.

• I proceeded to ask!

Question #1:
Is any water flowing into the basement in your home?
No! She said! Water is running outside under the laundry room.
Note: NEVER allow anyone to walk through standing water.

Question #2:
Can you turn off the water at the main shut off in your basement?
No, She said; I don't know where the shutoff is she replied.

Question #3:
Can a neighbor turn off the water for you; in your basement.
Everyone is working, so No! She replied.

At that point I Had a service call to go to; Priority call
Because water is flowing,
The longer water runs other conditions can occur.

• Conditions your pipes can freeze!

Dead battery's in basement thermostatic,
Basement thermostatic set to low,
Thermostat set to summer settings, COOLING",
Heat tape not plugged into electrical outlet,
Heat tape defective,
Heat tape not properly insulated,
Circuit breaker controlling heat tape tripped,
Tripped breaker controlling basement heat,
Tripped breaker controlling baseboard heat,
Tripped breaker controlling circulatory pump,
Tripped breaker controlling portable heater,
Tripped breaker controlling basement heat pump,
Close any open basement windows.

• Not blocking cold air drafts-

Lack of fiberglass Insulation,
Lack of spray foam insulation,
Broken Dryer vents and hoses,
Board up and repair any broken windows.

One way to use colored bulbs for decorating!
     Lets start with a variation of large colored bulbs 12 per box.

Select your favorite color: Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, and Silver.

Supplies needed:
Colored Bulbs, Elmer's white Glue, and Various Fine Colored Glitter. 

Note: 

fine glitter sticks to glue better than courser types.

Start with the name of someone from the group.

Your son or daughter maybe a grandson or granddaughter, niece or nephew start with someones name.

Are you one of those parents who thought giving a long name to your son or daughter sounded cool at the time, but the name will not fit on the colored bulb!

Well then write this years date: @example: 2015

• 1. Write a name or date with Elmer's glue on any bulb.
• 2. While the glue is wet; sprinkle with favorite colored fine glitter.
• 3. Find a place and let glue and glitter dry untouched.

Note: 

please allow 1+ hour to dry thoroughly.
remembering these colored bulbs are very fragile.

Since packing away Christmas decorations season.
Yes you soon see how well your packing process is working!
You'll open up those boxes stored away since last season.
Now as you unpack all those smaller boxes of boxed decoration.

Now this year begins the time to remember who made what and remembering who made this or that colored bulb. Was the bulb made in school or was it a bulb you made with your children at home.

• But as clients of the Realtor walk through the home they like the extra space potential in the basement. So will a old coal bin have any effect on the sale of the house, MAYBE or MAYBE not! It may stop you moving into your dream home or mess up your plans for moving on to a new city with your new job because the realtors clients hate the thought of losing that extra space, or dealing with removal of The old Coal Bin.
• WHY? Because these old coal bins offer no real value except loss of basement space. Old coal bins do offer a variety of scents that usually are not welcoming to your potential buyers of the realtor!
• POTENTIAL BUYERS or New OWNERS just don't want to deal with it.   The Coal Bin Removal, removing old rotted structure and the smell of pet urine in  the remaining old coal.                                                                       The look, the smell, the dust removing the old coal, the coal bin removal process, the removal of old rotted wood, the removal of sharp metal sheets and the clean up if the work isn't done properly, as you must contain floating coal dust. 1. Dust mask.
2. Tarp off work area.
3. Seal tarp to wall with duct tape.
4. Dis assembly; of wood and metal sheeting plus pulling nails or screws.
5. Disposal; finding a place to dispose all the debris.

THE DUST AND SOOT: 

1. Shop Vac wall "block or stone" 
2. Shop Vac Floor."Cement floor"
3. Vacuum any remaining areas with black soot.

THE CLEANING:

1. wipe down all areas of basement with damp cloth.
2. mop cement floors with a mop & bucket.
3. use Clorox not bleach to disinfect all areas.
4. ratio of Clorox to hot water  =1 cup Clorox to 1 gallon water.  

"DO NOT" connect a garden hose and hose all the coal soot and dust down any basement drains...

unless your a plumber.....

• Boys: Stick deodorant or colon plus razors for shaving. 
• Girls: Girls love perfume and deodorant plus razors for shaving their legs and pits. 
• Re-Gifting: Re-gifting gifts you have but will never use, give that old gift to a child, friend, family member that needs and can use you're old gift;. Remember that gift in a the closet? Let someone use it before a mouse decides to make a nest in the box someday. Mouse "Urine" Yuck! Unusable!
• The main thing to remember this year is: "Just Bring It On Home" for Christmas.
